Too busy for a photoshoot? That might be the perfect reason to book one.
As women, we often carry expectations (it can be exhausting) — that we need to do it all before we can slow down. Be more organised, more rested, more confident and ready.
But what if a photoshoot isn’t something you do after you’ve got it all together?
What if it’s the pause you didn’t know you needed?
Here’s my experience as a photographer: the women who come to me for portraits aren’t doing it because life is polished and perfect. Such things only live rent free in our heads (or Pinterest). They’re doing it because life is happening. And they want to celebrate it and not just survive it.
So if you’ve been telling yourself you’re too busy, too tired, or not quite “there yet,” this one’s for you.
1. You don’t need a milestone to book a photoshoot.
We’re taught to wait for the big moments: a wedding, a baby, a graduation. But some of the most powerful portraits I’ve taken came from “ordinary” days — the kind where a woman simply wanted to honour where she was.
Tired but growing, possibly on a healing journey and starting over. Settling in a new role or closing an old chapter.
You don’t need an occasion. You are the occasion, babe!
2. Busy women deserve a pause too.
If your calendar is packed, your head is spinning, and the thought of planning a shoot makes you laugh out loud… I hear you.
So personal session itself becomes your slow moment (it is a half a day to full day experience :)
We take our time here because you probably need it…
3. You don’t have to feel confident first.
Confidence doesn’t walk in the door with you — it shows up along the way.
I see it all the time. Women arrive feeling unsure and a bit shy. And by the end? They’re glowing because they felt seen and supported. I am your cheerleader and confidence photographer!
You don’t need to “fix” anything before booking a shoot. Come as you are! Your beauty is yours!
4. You matter just as much as your people.
So many of the women I photograph book sessions for their family photos first. Which is beautiful and absolutely a must in my opinion.
But here’s my reminder: You deserve a spotlight on yourself!
As Beyonce once sang: Who run the world? Girls!
5. It doesn’t need to be complicated.
You don’t need exclusive outfits or perfect hair (I have teamed up with amazing hair and make-up artist who will do all the magic for you). You don’t need to “get through this season” first.
I’ll guide you from start to finish and I’ll make it simple. And you’ll walk away with more than beautiful images — you’ll walk away with a moment that felt uplifting and empowering.
So here’s your invitation:
Let the photoshoot be the permission slip you’ve been waiting for.
Not when you feel ready. Not when life is slower.
Now.
Take that sick leave from work and trust your kids with your partner or parents (they should support you in this 100%).
Because you’re worth remembering in every season — not just the shiny ones.
